Various Leadership Appointments

Brief

This unique organisation is one of the UK Ministry of Defence’s largest suppliers, collaborating on over 1,000 defence contracts at any one time. The firm develops new technologies to solve important problems in Aerospace, Defence & Security across the globe.

We have been recruiting senior management talent for this client since 2002, for the majority of that time as the preferred supplier; completing more than 30 assignments. With our expertise in knowledge transfer, we have been ideally placed to deliver on a diverse range of assignments, identifying the talent needed to generate new and commercially successful ideas.

Outcomes

  • Proposition Leaders: Our initial project was to draw up a job description for Proposition Leaders to identify opportunities to cross-sell defence technologies into civil markets. We were subsequently asked to secure Proposition Leaders for health, government and technology markets.
  • Programmes Director – MoD: The appointed candidate recognised and successfully exploited opportunities to draw together diverse technologies and areas of research in order to deliver improved results for all MoD customers.
  • Managing Director – Space: The firm’s Space Division is one of the largest in Europe, with R&D, test, manufacture, and managed service offerings. We were asked to identify an individual to lead this division into a sustained period of growth; someone who would also recognise spin-off opportunities for the company’s space technologies.
  • Software & Engineering Director: We were asked to recruit a Director into a division providing highly complex software/ hardware systems for military customers. We utilised our knowledge of other markets for complex systems, and presented candidates from not only defence but also several other sectors.
  • Divisional Sales Director: A specialist division required a technically knowledgeable and commercially astute Sales Director to identify potential markets beyond defence applications. We secured the interest of an individual who went on to develop profitable customer relationships in petrochemical, pharmaceutical and semi-conductor markets.
