Business
Our client is an international software company that empowers its customers with state-of-the-art digital business support, data analytics and management information. Those customers include some of the world’s biggest and best-known brands across all sectors but especially in consumer, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial services.
This is a highly profitable business with an aggressive growth strategy in place across four continents. In addition to software development, our client provides its customers with advice and professional services to improve processes and performance and to map and manage the transition of a customer business from legacy systems to enhanced efficiency and increased profitability driven by their new technology and evidenced by data insights.
The compelling propositions that our client offers are all about adding value to its customers, and its success in doing so has attracted significant new investment. It is also engaged in a transformation of itself with the introduction of new investment, people, methodologies and the migration to a SaaS subscription business model in preference to licensing.
Despite being a leader in its chosen field for decades, and employing hundreds of people, the company has retained all the energy, excitement and ethos of a high-tech start-up.
Role
Projects Director is a new role. Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, the position will be based in the UK but have responsibility for delivery to customers across much of Europe.
Leading a small team of very experienced and capable consultants and as the primary contact with customers, including some of the very largest global corporates, this role is pivotal to the success of the business in the UK and Europe. Working alongside the Sales Director and the Quality Director there will always be a big part for the Projects Director to play in securing new contracts, although the core deliverables will always be effective customer consulting leading to value realisation, and implementation projects completed on time and within budget.
Given the growth rate and direction of the company, it is likely that there will be a need to expand the team and scope of services, both geographically and into new markets. There will also be a need for the successful candidate to collaborate widely, not just within the UK, but with colleagues and customers across Europe and globally – and with third parties too, such as a growing base of VARs (Value Added Resellers) of the company’s software and other implementation partners.
The management structure in this company is relatively flat, so influence and career opportunities abound, and appointment also carries with it the possibility of early equity participation.
