Our client is a £multi-billion private equity backed UK company with multiple operations in Ireland.

The Irish business units employ thousands of people at numerous locations across Ireland and generate combined sales revenues of over €100 million.

These are all branded businesses with distinctive identities that are well-established and highly regarded.

Role

MD Ireland is a new role, to be based in Dublin, reporting directly to the Group CEO and assuming full P&L responsibility for all the business units in Ireland.

The priority is to drive both growth and profitability.

There is genuine autonomy in this role, subject to the setting of an agreed strategy, its rigorous implementation, and the realisation of demanding targets.

There may be opportunities to make cost savings by integrating and harmonising back-office activities, digitisation and shared service centres. However, enhanced top-line performance is the primary expectation.

Candidate

This role requires an individual with deep knowledge of the Irish market to exercise judgement, apply commercial discipline and provide astute leadership.

A career background in large customer-centric retail, wholesale or distributive businesses will be advantageous, as will prior experience of working with private equity investors.

The rewards will be commensurate with a senior executive role and P&L accountability in a large, successful, expanding group.
