Business

Our client is a large, long-established, and highly regarded business that provides dedicated engineering expertise and services to Aerospace & Defence customers, primarily in the UK, Europe, Middle East & North America, but increasingly to customers elsewhere too. It is the market leader in the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (“MRO”) of specialist airframes and avionics for its many customers. It designs and delivers engineering and service solutions which ensure airworthiness, improve performance, reduce costs, and exceed expectations. With advances in technology its markets are growing, but also becoming ever more competitive, international and fast-moving.

Role

The Head of MRO Delivery reports to the Operations Director and has full responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of concurrent MRO activities on multiple aircraft. MRO Operations run 24/7 on a shift pattern employing hundreds of engineers, fitters and technicians, including more than a dozen Licensed Aircraft Engineers who can sign a Certificate to Release to Service. The nature of the work is varied, but the primary focus for this role will always be on delivery. In addition, and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team for the MRO business, there will be an expectation of input to strategic decision-making, and the leadership of transformational change programmes, process improvement and standardisation, knowledge sharing, systems implementations and upgrades, resource allocation, and workflow planning and scheduling. It is vitally important that the Head of MRO Delivery is adaptable and responsive, and that they ensure smooth and reliable delivery and as such this role enjoys significant influence and autonomy.
